Mr. Papantonio concentrates in mass torts litigation and personal injury, wrongful death and products liability law. He organized the Mass Tort Department at Levin Middlebrooks over a decade ago when the firm undertook the battle against asbestos manufacturers. Mr. Papantonio presently heads the Mass Tort Department at Levin Middlebrooks. This department, one of the largest mass tort departments
in the Southeast, has handled cases throughout the nation including asbestosis, breast implants, Dalkon shield, L-tryptophan, AIDs, rollovers, roof crushes, seat belt failures, child restraints, fuel system integrity and prescription drugs. Mr. Papantonio is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has authored and coauthored instructional articles on handling mass tort cases. His publications include Defenses You Can Count on in an Asbestosis Case and How to Prove a Sick Building Case. Mr. Papantonio regularly lectures on topics ranging from cross-examination of defense experts to preparing and trying products liability cases, and staying motivated as a trial attorney. He is the author of In Search of Atticus Finch, A Motivational Book for Lawyers and Clarence Darrow, The Journeyman.
Mr. Papantonio was included in the 1998 edition of The Best Lawyers in America and was inducted as a Fellow into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 1999, he was elected as Fellow into the International Society of Barristers.
